Contributors Guidelines

Submissions can be emailed to Email: lilitu.shop @ gmail.com  or by post to The Crossroads, PO Box 1200 Belconnen ACT 2616.

For contributors who are sending written work, we accept MS Word and Publisher (2003) files. It is not necessary, but helpful, if you can use 10pt Times New Roman.  We also strongly encourage authors to include images to illustrate the subject-matter wherever appropriate; GIF or JPEG files are best (in terms of emailing them). The Crossroads is a black and white publication. We will accept coloured pictures, but be aware that they are printed in greyscale, which can affect the clarity in some cases. If you are submitting original artwork it should be created with our black and white format in mind. Please do not send original artworks, send a digital print or scan.

The Crossroad’s principal focus is on publishing articles that are more in-depth and more rigorously researched than you may otherwise find in the popular pagan/witchcraft magazines. This is why we call ourselves a journal, not a magazine.  I'm sure you know that paganism means many different things to many different people, so the range of subjects that we will consider is very broad, but it does need to have an overall theme that the editing team will recognise as being 'pagan'. We are very enthusiastic about articles that present new ideas or fresh perspectives on old ones.

We expect the articles that are submitted to us to be well researched and written, and we do require authors to provide footnotes and references, as required. An author's personal point of view and personal experience is very important, but we also expect to see that the author has researched the subject matter and/or other perspectives (whether through reading, conducting interviews, etc) in formulating their own case. Obviously, it is not acceptable to pass another person's work off as your own, and any other person's material that you do use in support of your own must be appropriately referenced. If you need someone's permission to use material, please ensure this is done before submitting your article to us and include the details of the permission that has been given.

We also accept and welcome reviews of books, events, and music, and submissions of original artwork and poetry.

The Editing Team reserves the right to edit all articles that are submitted to The Crossroads. This is not done to change the meaning of the article, but to reduce the length and to improve the clarity, if either is required.
